Employee Benefits 364-W OL: Health Care Reform ACA
This course will cover all aspects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) including its impact on both individuals and employers. The course will explore coverage mandates for employer group health plans, as well as the implications of employer-shared responsibility and its penalties, individual mandates, and the state and federal exchanges. Plan design and administration reforms will be reviewed to determine which employer plans are covered or grandfathered, as well as their eligibility and coverage designs. Information reporting to the IRS by the employer and the individual will be studied. The course will examine ACA's impact on HSAs, HRAs, an consumer-driven health plans, as well as ERISA compliance for health plans.
