Clinic: Conflict Resolution Clinic Certification (JD-522CLN)
Students work toward becoming a certified mediator through Chicago's community mediation center - the Center for Conflict Resolution (CCR). This certification is a valuable addition to a student's resume and provides the necessary credentials to mediate through the court system during this course and after the semester ends. Once a student meets all of CCR's certification requirements, they mediate cases in small claims court. Students may take on additional work based on their expertise or specialized training, such as representing a party in an arbitration or mediating family law cases. Students must also complete an outreach project designed to increase awareness and use of mediation. Center Director Approval is required prior to enrollment in the course.
