Clinic: Trademark (Basic) (IP-447)
Under the supervision of a trademark practitioner, students will conduct trademark searches, write trademark opinion letters and write and prosecute trademark applications for individuals and small businesses before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Students will learn the fundamentals of client representation in trademark selection and application matters, including new client intake, docketing, ethics and trademark application procedures. Applications will be filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. If an office actions arrives, students will prepare a response to the Office Action under supervision and file the same. Prerequisite: Trademark Law & Practice or Copyright Law & Practice Requirement: Students must be in good academic standing. Students can register for this clinic on their own.
