Cancer Rights & Law (JD-287CR)
This seminar course will examine federal and Illinois state laws through the unique lens of cancer. This course will provide an overview of health and disability insurance law, employment discrimination, wage and hour law, estate planning, medical decision making, and other legal issues that may arise as a result of a cancer diagnosis. This course will also include a review of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, its legal challenges, and the Supreme Court's ruling.
