Patent & Trade Secret Law (JD-117)
This course is offered at least every two years. This course has prerequisites of Lawyering Skill I and II, Contract I and II, Criminal Law, Civil Pro.I, and Con. Law I, Property and Torts. The law of patents, including inventorship, section 102 bars, specification and claims, patentable subject matter, requirements for patentability, filing and prosecution of a patent application, claim interpretation, and infringement and litigation issues. The law of trade secrets, including the definition of a trade secret, the duty of non-disclosure, misappropriation, improper means of discovery, remedies, and the Uniform Trade Secret Act.
